Using Feedback Studio to Improve Student Learning Outcomes

Lynn Gribble, Senior Lecturer in UNSW’s School of Management, leverages Feedback Studio’s features to ensure equity and consistency in feedback and grading.

“Over a term, I could supervise up to 4800 submitted papers. Proudly over the last 5 years, we have had only 2 requests for remarks. Rubrics and Feedback Studio have led to our consistency and application ensuring all students are graded in a similar manner and to the same standards.”

Lynn was one of the first at her institution to adopt Turnitin and subsequently champion Feedback Studio to support pedagogy. Lynn says it supports large tutor groups, “providing equity in the application of marks and consistency in grading to standards/achievement.” The result of her work? Improved student learning outcomes at the university. Lynn states:

“We can see where they have accessed their feedback and thus deepen the discussion in class based on learning behaviors of making a change. I have observed where students access the feedback they generally improve by 3-5% for the second/last assignment.”
